What is your favourite Fashion trend for Fall 2021?
With things opening up more and slowly moving towards a ‘new normal’ I think we’re all feeling a sense of optimism for what is to come. I, for one, am always so excited for a new season in fashion. New styles and colours always bring me joy and Fall 2021 has me particularly excited! Special occasions and dining out are coming back into our lives and that means that we will be dressing up again!! So let’s talk about 2021 fall fashion trends!
The collections for Fall 2021 are definitely following the times of a post-pandemic world. We’re going to see styles embracing the roaring 20’s, an outdoor apres-ski lige as well as the comfort of elevated knitwear. I hope you love the new trends as much as I do and discover a few new favourites to reflect your own personal style.
Statement Glimmer & Glitter
Now is definitely your time to shine! Sequined looks emulating the 1920’s are going to brighten everyone’s mood! Choose from shimmering jackets, pants, dresses and high neck tops.
Saturated Colours is my Favourite 2021 Fall Fashion Trend!
Bright saturated shades combined in unexpected ways are hitting the runways. Bubblegum Pink, Marigold, Mustard, and Lavender, Lime Green and Rust are definitely going to add some punch to your colour palette and brighten up your mood. This Topaz blouse with a gorgeous pleated sleeve and matching high rise, wide crop pant is one of my absolute favourites for the season. The blouse could be worn to dress up jeans and makes a spectacular outfit all together with the pants. Did I mention it’s by Joseph Ribkoff? Lol.
The Suit Coat
The traditional suit jacket has been replaced with more of a suit coat. The longer style is still paired with a matching pant or skirt; however, we’re seeing a broad choice in pant silhouettes. It can be a classic style, palazzo, flared or cropped with a paper bag waist. The new suit coat works back to any one of these. The choice is entirely up to you!
All Out Tailoring
Tailored pieces are always classic and a great investment. This year the look is strong but especially when it comes to layering. Button ups will be layered over turtlenecks and under jackets, vests and coats. It’s all about layering one tailored style with another.
Knits
Always one of my favourites! Knits are the ultimate for being comfortable, cozy and chic. The silhouette can be figure forming or oversized, so truly something for everyone. Choose from a slim fitting cashmere maxi dress or a chunky cotton cable pullover, you’ll be right on trend and ready for the cooler weather in style!
Leather
Bold leather is definitely happening. Choose from leggings, wide leg crops, shirts, dresses jackets and tops with leather detailing. Here are some of my fav’s by Joseph Ribkoff.
Roaring 20’s
Hints of the Roaring 20’s are showing up after so many restrictions during the pandemic. Silk, lace, nighty-inspired flapper dresses are all making a big come-back for fashionable nightlife.
Not only is this dress by Joseph Ribkoff extremely comfortable but it is also very flattering as the ruffles camouflage and can hide a multitude of sins! This could be your new favourite LBD!
Puffer Coat
The puffer coat continues as a strong trend for Fall 2021, particularly fashion pieces that make more of a statement. I love the pearl and fringe detail on this jacket by Joseph Ribkoff. It has classic styling with an edge and because it’s not overly puffy it is flattering for everyone.
The Midi
The new length for skirts and dresses this season is between the knee and ankle. Perhaps it’s reflecting the theory that in fashion hemlines rise during prosperity and drop during a downturn in the economy. In any case I personally ove this length. It’s easy to wear with heels, boots or flats, depending on your personal style.
